Building To Your Budget

Building To Your Budget

There’s a very good reason why you should use an in-house designer/draftsperson, employed by a builder, to design your new home.  It’s because the builder has just as much vested interest in sticking to your budget as you do.

Sure, we can design you a modern-day version of the Taj Mahal, with all of the top of the line bells and whistles; but if it’s outside of your budget, there is no way that you will go ahead with building it.  By knowing your budget up front, we can design a home that represents the best value for your money.  How do we know what represents best value?  Because we take the time to really listen to our clients and build relationships with them.  This isn’t about us … it’s about you; what you can’t live without and what you will be willing to compromise on.

Our in-house designer is also backed by our entire building team.  That means they have the knowledge of ‘how’ it will be built instead of just what the finished product will look like. Are you dreaming of an indoor/outdoor entertaining area reminiscent of the open-air lobby at the Bali hotel you stayed at last year?  Yes, it can be done, but at what cost?  Did you know that structural beams are required to support that expanse of open space?  How much of your budget are you willing to put into things that you can’t see?

So, what is this vested interest that we, the builder that employs the designer, has in sticking to your budget?  Well, if our home design doesn’t match your budget, then we’ve just lost a potential client.  The upper limit of a building budget is usually a finite thing and you don’t want to be wasting it on plans for a home that you aren’t financially able to build.  We’re here to help our clients to build the best home they can within their budget.
